The UVFL Executive Board is proud to announce the formation of the new and larger Cougar Youth Football League (CYFL).  The formation of this new Cougar Youth Football League will make the new league the largest youth football league in Utah County.  It will also bring the county's best youth football programs and teams together for amazing competition.

Started in 1978 the UVFL under the direction of Randy Park introduced a strong High School boundary brand to serve the Youth in Utah County.  Last season the UVFL had grown to represent 12 high school boundaries along the Wasatch Front.

However due to the increased participation and growth of players and teams in the UVFL, Randy and the Executive Board felt this was the time to grow beyond their previous conference structure.   Randy also felt it that it was time to step aside and to appoint a new League Commissioner to serve as the new League Commissioner.   "This is an exciting time to be playing youth football in Utah County,  It's time we bring together the different High School boundaries into one league and compete against each other.  I have enjoyed my time serving the youth football community here in the Valley.  I will continue to support, volunteer and help where asked"  Said Randy Park. The new executive board of the newly formed Cougar Conference has selected Rod Sweeten to serve as the New League Commissioner.  Rod has a very strong back ground in youth sports having served as the Orem Youth baseball Commissioner for the past 4 Years.

"I am honored to build upon the legacy of the UVFL and what Randy Park has built in the UVFL"  Said Rod Sweeten  "This change will allow for further growth.   With this change and growth in our structure we are saying let's work together to build friendships and competition with all High School Boundaries in the valley.  Let find common rules and boundaries that can be shared in our league and other neighboring leagues." In this new structure each High School Boundary will be asked to form their own district boards.  There will be a huge need for Parents and Coaches to volunteer and serve on their respective district boards" "The goal is to create an opportunity to serve for those Coaches and Parents in the community and build something great for their communities.  We need all the help we can get"  Ken Kunz Mountain View Youth Football Director. The New Cougar Youth Football League will include the existing teams from the old UVFL and the Conference will be adding teams from Springvile, Af, PG, Lehi and Westlake High School Boundaries.

"We will be adding teams from all High School boundaries south of the Point of the Mountain,  Our hope is to unite the county into one league to play the best talent. "  - Jeremy Hill Orem Youth Football Director If you are wanting more information about the new Cougar league and how to volunteer please contact

The CYFL’s goal is to play under the high school boundaries as recognized by the school districts. Our goal is to work in a partnership with the high schools to support their programs and create a culture of pride with in the youth as to progress to play for their own high school.

We want to foster a partnership with the high school coaches to mentor and train the youth coaches to allow a great experience for the kids in the youth program. Our goal is to have a representative from each high school boundary representing each high school to sit on the board of directors. It should be run by the parents of the respective high school where ever one is equal in representation. We will still have an affiliation with USA Football and will have all coaches certified to coach. All coaches will have background checks provided by Western Reporting from SLC.

We will endorse programs like Quarterback Elite ( Dustin Smith, Ty Detmer ) We will strive to give the kids the best experience possible with the greatest growth potential possible. We will continue to support an competitive and non competitive format to all the players to improve their skill set as the mature into better athlete’s. Our league will be open to all teams that support the boundary regulation and abide by the by laws of our organization.

Currently we will have teams from:
Lone Peak*
Maple Mountain
